The view pages more or less follow a pattern to display peculiar type of information and enable to perform few useful actions to manage the resources. All view pages put a table on view to provide related information under its columns, with the ability to perform a good range of actions to manage the contacts. Contact Lists page displays a list of all currently available contact lists. Let’s take a look at the information available and the actions we can perform.
Navigate to View all Lists
Main Navigation -> Lists -> View all Lists
Preferred View (List or Tree)
The page offers the ability to select a preferred view of the table between the available two options 1) List View 2) Tree View. With both these, system adds few options/elements and eliminate others, therefore, we would discuss both the Tree and List views.
Tree View
In the tree view, the contact lists are displayed under the specific groups they belong to. Each group will have its own contact lists.
List View
Unlike the tree view where contact lists are displayed under the groups they belong, in list view, every row in the table represents a separate contact list and its related information.
Let's first discuss the common information/elements that both tree and list view display.
Common Between List & Tree View
Add new List
Add new list by clicking the button at top left area of the table "Add a List" with a + sign.
List Name/Group Name
When you have selected Tree as preferred view, this column will show a Group name and the Contact Lists belonging to that group will appear under the tree of this group. While in case of List view, every row of the table represents a separate contact list and its group will appear in the row next to it.
Contacts/Subscribers
The count of the contacts within specific list, the number count is clickable and will lead you to the next page upon clicking. Next page will display another table that would show the details of the contacts in specific list.
Created On
Exact date when the list was added to the system, each row of the table represents a separate list, and the rows along the line show information related to that specific list.
Added By
The list was added using the specific user appearing under this column.
Last Updated
Date of last significant update
Actions
There are multiple actions you can perform to manage the available lists.
Edit |
Click to edit the list details such as, List Name, Owner Name, Email and such. |
Make a Copy |
Click and a popup will appear on your screen asking how many copies are you looking to create for the specific list. Provide the number and the system will automatically replicate the list details and will create the copy. |
Delete |
Click to delete the selected list(S). |
Add Contacts |
Manually add contacts to the specific list. Learn more about Adding Contacts. |
Export .CSV |
System will automatically export the records existing in the specific list to .CSV file and save it to your system. |
Import Contacts |
Click to quickly import sizeable amount of contacts from a file to the specific list. Learn more about How Importing Function Works? |
Split List |
Options to split the list are. Number of Contacts per List- choose this option and provide number of contacts you want one list to carry. System will split the list and will subdivide the contacts as per the provided number. Number of Contact Lists- Select this option and provide number of contact lists you want create. System will automatically subdivide number of contacts for the lists. |
Merge List |
Take one list and merge it with another. |
More Actions (Bulk Actions)
Towards the bottom of the page, you will see a dropdown with plenty of options discussed as below. Both for the list and tree view, you can select desired list to perform the following actions.
Delete Selected Lists |
Select list and choose the action to delete the selected ones . |
Delete Contacts within List |
Want to keep the list but not the contact anymore? Select this option to do so. |
Mark as Confirm |
Select the option to update the contacts status to confirm |
Mark as Confirmed |
Click to update the status of the contacts to unconfirmed |
Update Format to Receive HTML |
It will update the default format of contacts to HTML |
Update Format to Receive Text |
The option will update the default receiving format of the contacts to Text |
Mark Soft Bounced as Active | Mark all soft bounces as active |
Mark Hard Bounced as Active | Mark hard bounces as active to be able to receive future campaigns |
Mark Unsubscribe as Active |
Select to mark the unsubscribed status as Active within specific selected lists |
Change Contacts Status to Active |
It will change the status of all the contacts to active |
Change Contacts Status to Inactive |
It will mark all contacts status as inactive, inactive contact would not be able to receive campaigns |
Delete Soft Bounce Contacts |
Remove contacts that are categorized as soft bounced(s) |
Delete Hard Bounced Contacts |
Delete contacts that are categorized as hard bounced within the list(s) |
Delete Suppressed Contacts |
Remove the contacts suppressed for the selected list(s) |
Delete Unsubscribed Contacts |
Delete the contacts that have unsubscribed from the specific list(s) |
Actions/Options Specific to Tree View
Some of the options available for the Tree View only
Groups (Edit & Delete)
Unlike list view, the first column of the table categorizes list within the specific groups that they were made part of. You are given the ability to edit the group name, delete group or the lists belonging to the group and perform other group related actions.

Options that you can perform with list view only
Move to Another Group
You can’t use drag and drop to move the list from one group to another like you do in tree view. For the list view, if you want to change the group of specific list, you would go the Actions and will take the option “Move” to select the group name to which you want to move specific list.
Number of Records per Page
To select the numbers of records that you want to view per page, the page puts a dropdown menu on view towards the top of the page. The dropdown menu starts from 50 records to display, and ends with 500 records on one page. Viewing large number of records on one page may reduce the speed to some extent, depending upon the resources you have deployed and other processes running and consuming the resources.
Search Function
Search box appears on the top of table when List View is selected as preferred view. You can use the search box to search specific records from the table.
