The function intends to offer a possibility to update the status of the contacts in selected list(s). In CampaignsPlus, lists are separate from one another. Which means, if the contacts flagged as bounced in list A doesn’t automatically happen to turn bounced if exists in list B. But you do have an idea that invalid contacts or hard bounces of list A will remain invalid even if the email is sent from the list B. The function can help you process these with an easy way. Let’s take a look at the options, the process of updating the contacts status in bulk involves importing, and import function was discussed in one of the previous articles. The process of importing the contacts is the same even for this case, just with one or two different selections.
Import File
The destination of the file that needs to be imported and you have the following two option to select one appropriate.
Upload Now from System - If the file that you need to import is in your computer, then select this option. The process needs the file to be uploaded first from the field underneath.
- Select File- Proceeding with the option Upload Now from System would require selecting the file from your system to upload and import.
Select From Files Uploaded to Server Folder - If the file has already been uploaded to the server folder under your installation, then the system will simply provide you an option to select this file from its name and get it instantly imported, without having to upload it from your computer. You can also upload files using FTP to place within the server folder and later selecting the desired ones for importing.
- Import File- You will see all uploaded files to select one, if you select the second option to choose an already uploaded file from the server folder.
Contact List
The list that the importing file will eventually have an effect on, one or more contact lists can be selected in this regard. Make sure that this particular function is specific to update the contact status in bulk, and not for importing the new contacts to the specific lists. Therefore, in order to have the status of contacts updated, contacts in the importing file should exist in the selected list(s) also.
Actions
The process will match the contacts in the importing file with the contacts in the selected contact list(s), and would help you perform the following set of actions.
Delete |
Select this option to delete the contacts within the selected list(s). |
Unsubscribe |
Turn the matching contacts status to “Unsubscribe” in the selected list(s). Contact with Unsubscribed status will not receive further campaigns. |
Soft Bounce |
Update the status of contacts to “Soft Bounce” |
Hard Bounce |
Mark the matching contacts as “Hard Bounce” within the selected list(s). Contacts marked as hard bounced within the list will no longer be able to receive further emails. |
Headers Include
If the file that contains contact information include first row as header, then, select this option as Yes. It will give system an indication that the first row of the importing file belongs to the titles of the columns and not the original contact information; therefore, ignore the first row (Headers) while importing the contact information. If you wrongly select this option as “No” and the importing file contains first row as header, then system will import header names i.e. First Name, Gender and others as record values. Therefore, if the first row of the importing file isn’t the header then select No otherwise go with Yes option.
Click the “Submit” button to complete the process
